Pastor Hunter

Hunter Mobley is the Executive Pastor at Christ Church Nashville. His roles include preaching, teaching, shepherding the staff, and overseeing all church programming.

Hunter is a native of Nashville and began attending Christ Church Nashville while in high school. Based on his deep love for gospel music, Hunter’s first staff role at the church was as a choir intern in the summers between his college years.

Prior to his pastoral ministry at Christ Church Nashville, Hunter practiced law at a firm in Nashville, taught at Belmont University College of Law, and served in the legal office of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. Hunter has degrees from Davidson College (B.S.), University of Kentucky (J.D.), and New York University (LL.M.). In vocational ministry, Hunter combines a deep understanding of tax law as it is related to ministry with a love for shepherding God’s family.

In the community, Hunter serves as Vice President for the Association for the Preservation of Tennessee’s Antiquities (APTA), Tennessee’s oldest preservation nonprofit, which owns Nashville’s Belle Meade Plantation, among other historic sites. He also serves on the board of directors for Mercy Ministries International.

Hunter is passionate about leading the church toward a broader understanding and expression of the three great streams of the Christian faith: the liturgical, the evangelical, and the charismatic. Devotional material by Hunter can be found at
