October Missions Update

Dear Christ Church family,
What a glorious day we had yesterday at Worship on the Lawn! Joining in the song of praise, listening to Pastor Ben read the Sermon on the Mount, and seeing you fellowship together was magnificent in our cathedral of creation.

As I mentioned yesterday, October is Missions Month, where we celebrate our supported missionaries and renew our support spiritually and financially While the pandemic has changed many things, one thing that has remained steady is how our missionaries have stayed ON MISSION, being true to their calling and being messengers of the Gospel. As they continue to adapt to these unforeseen circumstances to safely serve their communities, we covet your prayers for them.

Please join us in daily praying for our missionaries in October by following our prayer calendar, which was compiled from specific needs submitted by our missionaries. Praying for these needs is a practical but powerful way we can BE the Church and support these brothers and sisters in the faith.

I also invite you to join me for a time of corporate prayer each Wednesday in October at noon in the church’s tunnel at the sanctuary entrance. We will join our hearts and minds in one accord to pray for our missionaries and the needs of our people. If you cannot be with us in-person, please join us in prayer wherever you are each Wednesday at noon.

I look forward to this special time of prayer with you starting this Wednesday, October 7, at noon!  “Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.” -Colossians 4:2 (NIV)
Blessings,

Pastor Linda Hilliard
Pastor of Stewardship and Development
