The Spirit of Lent

When we talk about the Holy Spirit, our normal reaction is to think about powerful gifts, celebration, and glorious experiences. In this passage though, the Holy Spirit drives Jesus into the desert to be tempted by the Devil. We may be astounded by this, until we read several accounts in the Book of Acts in which the Spirit unsettles the ideas and practices of faithful believers for the sake of pushing them out into the world for witness. In this Lenten season, are we ready to invite the Holy Spirit to lead us past our own settled ideas and practices for the sake of others?
