Coronavirus Safety Update – 3/12 (Outdated)

Updated (3/13):

As events surrounding COVID-19 continue to develop, our pastoral leadership team has decided we will NOT gather on our Christ Church campus for classes and worship on this Sunday, March 15.

As an alternative, we invite all to join us for an online Worship Service at 10:30am this Sunday. You can watch the livestream on Facebook and our website. Please remember to give online.

Additionally, all classes, groups, and rehearsals on campus are canceled for the coming week, including Wednesday, March 18. Please check our website’s calendar for real-time changes to the church’s schedule of events.

Original post (3/12):

Dear Christ Church family,

Many of you know that the Coronavirus has made it to Davidson and Williamson Counties. We are sad to see this new illness hit home and ask you to pray for those who have been affected.

While we monitor the situation for any changes to public health guidelines, we will continue regular Sunday gatherings at 9am (Sunday School) and 10:30am (Worship Service).

To protect the safety of our Christ Church family, we also are taking some common-sense steps as recommended by the TN Dept. of Health and other public health authorities. We have increased the frequency and timing of cleaning and disinfection of surfaces in our building. All door handles, elevator buttons, handrails and high use areas have been sanitized. The sanctuary pews and handrails have been sanitized and will be sanitized after each service.

With special regard to our children in Christ Church Kids and the Day School and nursery: the children’s areas are sanitized on a daily schedule. Also, parents, you play an important role. Please do not bring your child to class or the nursery if they are sick, have a runny nose or fever. Thank you all for helping us keep our children safe.

Please know that the Christ Church staff will continue to follow public health news reports and respond proactively. We will take any further needed actions and communicate with you if there are changes to the situation.

We know that in all events and circumstances God has not given His people a spirit of fear, but rather a spirit of power, of love, and of a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7).  Let us remember and live in this promise, one step at a time, in the wisdom God provides, as we exercise patience, common sense, and grace for one another as a congregation. Thank you for loving one another well in this way!

In His Grace and Peace,

Pastor Ben Anderson
