Christ Church Mourns the Passing of Sister Mary Wallace

Christ Church family,

In the early hours of Friday morning, April 3, one of the founders of Christ Church, our beloved Sister Mary Wallace, passed away. Sister Wallace was the sister of our founding pastor, L. H. Hardwick, Jr.

One of her family members described Sister Wallace this way:

“Grandma was the epitome of strength and goodness. She was a pillar for both her family and her church. To name but a few of her accomplishments in this life, she raised a most loving and supportive family of six children and was the author of 19 published books. Her faith led her and Grandpa to travel the world spreading the word of the gospel while touching countless lives.”

At Christ Church, Sister Wallace applied her passion for reading by breathing new life into our bookstore. We will miss her warm smile and her zest for life.

Christ Church will host a celebration of Sister Wallace’s life on Monday, April 7 in the sanctuary with visitation at 10:00am and the funeral service at 11:00am. Additionally, visitation will be at Woodbine Funeral Home Hickory Chapel on Sunday, April 6, 3:00pm–6:00pm.

Thank you for your prayers for the Wallace and Hardwick family.
