Christ Church Family Update – Week of Sunday, April 26

Dear Christ Church Family,

One of the ways God shares hope through our congregation into our community is through our Martha’s Pantry. With your donations of food and basic necessities like diapers and formula, we are able to help meet the physical needs of families week after week. Thank you! Over the last two months, you have risen to the challenge as the needs of our community have grown tremendously.

After the tornado, our pantry collection bins were overflowing with food and supplies for the victims of this devastation. We saw The Church come together all across our city in a powerful way and witnessed Living Hope on the move, even in the midst of such loss. Our own Patricia Cross, who is the Executive Director of our supported missionary organization, Rejoice Ballet, connected with others in North Nashville serving those directly impacted by the tornado. Patricia loaded up her own car with donations from Martha’s Pantry to personally deliver the items on behalf of our congregation. Thank you for BEING the Church in this way, Patricia!

As this pandemic continues, our church family also continues to meet the increased need for Martha’s Pantry as we serve over three times as many families on average per week with groceries. After hearing of this need and our congregation’s efforts to respond, the YMCA donated a large amount of food and supplies to enable us to serve even more families in this difficult time. Even more recently, Christ Church Nashville has connected with the West Nashville Dream Center. They have also seen a drastic rise in the number of families needing food assistance during this time. In a wonderful picture of Christian unity, we were able to partner with the Dream Center to provide some greatly appreciated assistance in replenishing their depleted supplies, thanks to our additional donations from the YMCA.

Thank you for allowing the Lord to continue spreading hope all across our city through your donations and support of Martha’s Pantry, especially in this trying season! Please continue to drop off donations at the office entrance doors of the church, as you are able. We are so thankful to be able to serve in this way in such a time as this!

“Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.” (Hebrews 13:16)
