Room in the Inn
During the colder months, RITI ministry provides a warm place to sleep, supper, breakfast, and a sack lunch for men, women, and children who would otherwise go without. This vital ministry provides an opportunity to minister to their physical needs and share with them with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We can’t do it without committed volunteers. To volunteer or for more information,  Codi, church office/ext. 113 .


Café and Bookstore Volunteers
Volunteer workers are needed for Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings. Please see Bookstore/Café Manager, Katy Mashburn or complete a Get Connected Card (pew racks) and leave it at the Welcome Desk.


Help in the Upper Room
Volunteers needed in the “Upper Room” with the audiovisual teams. The audio team records services on cassettes and CDs which are sold in the bookstore and placed in the hospitality center. The video team films services, producing the images you see on the Sanctuary screens, the streaming video on the Internet, and DVDs for distribution. On-the-job training provided. Kidpark Teachers Needed
Sunday & Wednesday
Sunday morning, 8:30 service— Adventureland (4s);  Gloryland (2s) every other week.
Wednesday nights — Adven- tureland (4s); Praiseville (3s); and Nursery. If you can help, Susan Bledsoe, (615) 834-6171 ext. 120.


Prayer Ministry
A sign-up table is in the main foyer for those who would be willing to pray through a Sunday morning service. Please help us in this special effort. More information available at the sign-up table; or contact Jackie Stanfield, 833-8890.


BABY DRESSER PROGRAM 2008
Women’s Ministries and the Women’s Sunday morning Bible study class are sponsoring the Baby Dresser Program, a ministry of practical help for those in crisis pregnancies. A surprise baby shower is planned this month. You can bless the mother-to-be and her baby boy by bringing an unwrapped gift. Baby Dresser flyers with gift suggestions are on the information tables. Bring unwrapped gifts to Carson Hall Sunday mornings, Women’s Ministries office Monday-Friday, or the marked container at the KidPark check-in area. Nursing Home Ministry
Do you have a special place in your heart for elderly people? We are expanding our Nursing Home Ministry and need your help. If you are willing to join a team of people who visit a nursing home once or twice a month, please contact us. We need people who can play piano or guitar, people who can lead worship, people who can pray and visit with the residents, and people who can share a devotional. If you are interested in helping in this ministry, fill out the Get Connected Card online or fill out one in the pew and drop in the offering or leave at the Welcome Desk in the foyer.


Media Department
The Media Dept. is needing volunteers to help in the Tape/CD Duplication ministry. Training will be provided. Please contact John McClure, church office/ext. 151.

Funeral/Hospital Care
  • Preparation and delivery of a meal to an individual’s or a family’s home following a crisis (funeral, major illness, shut-in)
  • Table setup, serve, and cleanup following a meal being served (at church) to a family after a funeral service
  • Cooking and delivering a dish to the church for a family meal following a funeral

Welcome Ministry
Passing out the bulletins is just an excuse to greet every person with a friendly smile and a warm greeting.
Goals:
  1. To make a favorable impression.
  2. To promote the various ministries Christ Church.
  3. To Minister in such a way that people will be encouraged to return again and again.
  4. To demonstrate that even though our church is large, it’s still friendly and caring.

Hospitality Ministry
After each morning worship service, Hospitality Center greeters greet First Time Visitors, thank them for coming, offer refreshments and answer any questions. Each family is given a packet of literature summarizing Christ Church history, highlighting various ministries and upcoming events. Our goal is to make our visitors feel Welcome – Comfortable - Connected and encourage them to make CC their home!Contact Teresa Peveler at (615) 834-6171 ext. 166 for more information.
 

Ushers Ministry
Our ushers serve the pastor and the people of Christ Church by helping provide an atmosphere of welcome and security in the sanctuary. They not only help people find seating, take up the offerings and pass out visitor cards, but they also stand ready to deal with disturbances, emergencies, or special needs with a “hands on” approach.

Safety & Security Ministry
Mission: To create and maintain a safe environment throughout Christ Church. They help monitor the halls to keep them clear, make sure children are not wandering in places they do not belong and assist people in locating classes or services. They assist our Metro Officers and stand ready to deal with disturbances, emergencies, or special needs.

Communion Stewards
Communion Stewards help serve Communion the Fourth Sunday of each month and on special occasions here at Christ Church. In addition to actually serving the communion, there is also a team that prepares the elements and a team that cleans up after Communion.

Pew Card Team
We have a team of people who help restock the pew cards in the sanctuary (Tithes & Offering Envelopes, Prayer Cards, Get Connected Cards, pens, pencils, etc.). Each person is assigned a section of the sanctuary and is responsible for restocking their section once a week.
