Dear Church Family,

After much hard work and miraculous donations, the 40,000 pound container left for Dominican Republic. It had over 10,000 pounds of food, medical supplies, tents, generators, clothes, hygiene items, blankets, office supplies for our missionaries, David and Judy Heady, and lots of love and concern. We could not have been able to ship these items without the wonderful contributions of hundreds of people. We are so very grateful.

The container arrived by ship and is to be trucked over the border and directly to the clinic/compound of the Heady’s in Titanyen, Haiti. We have enough supplies to begin the second container for shipping the middle of March. As long as the Lord sends the items, we will ship them. We plan on shipping a container once a month for at least this year. Once again, we are so very grateful for the involvement of everyone.

The Haitian people will have to begin with the items on their back as they have little availability to obtain the items needed for slight recovery. For 30 years, David and Judy have been faithful with what they have received. We do not see that changing as these supplies arrive. Please pray for the wisdom and safety of everyone involved.

“On January 18th, at 4:00 pm, two private planes reached Haiti. One plane with 1,800 pounds of medical supplies and food and the other with four orthopedic surgeons, two surgical nurses and one anesthesiologist. This is the third plane that we have been involved with since the earthquake last Tuesday. No, we did not pay for the planes, but the surgeons and other people have opened their hearts and their purses. Three medical personnel came from Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga. We cannot explain how grateful we are to all who have been involved in any way at all.

Now, our role is to get the needed food, water, medical supplies and construction supplies to help in the continual healing. This is going to be a monthly coordination effort for us in that we plan to send a 40 foot sea land container each month for at least the next twelve months to Haiti. We have coordinated with our missionaries in Haiti, David and Judy Heady, and will be sending the container to the Dominican Republic to be trucked to the Heady’s base.

This is less crowded at the moment with the Dominican Republic willing to do what it can. We will seize the opportunity as it arises.

We will coordinate this effort from our electrical warehouse in Tennessee which has a loading dock at truck level and a forklift to load the pallets. We can ship forty 4-foot by 4-foot by 4-foot pallets in this container. The weight is approximately 40,000 pounds. Please agree with us that the needed supplies will come and we will have the wisdom to complete this task.”

The Daily Prayer Guide

What an honor it is to pray for missionaries who are truly carrying out the Lord’s “Great Commission.” Realizing that they are on the front line of spiritual warfare, missionaries always state that their greatest needs are not physical or material---but prayer support! They ask for our prayers; Can we do any less than this? Please pick up a copy of the new prayer booklet “Go Light Your World” from one of the Information Racks and pray for one missionary/ministry each day, Starting over after you finish all thirty-one days.
