Ben was raised in the farm country of northern Iowa. In 1999, after earning a B.A. in biology, Ben moved to Nashville, TN where he found a career in the music industry. After seven years of performing, Ben left the road to accept a staff position in Family Life Ministry at Christ Church Nashville in December of 2006. Today he teaches and ministers in a variety of settings within the greater Christ Church family, including J.A.M. (4th-6th grade), Royal Rangers, and The Factory. Additionally, Ben is on track to complete his M.A. in Biblical Studies at Trevecca Nazarene University in the next year.

Ben has been married to another wonderful “Midwesterner,” Erin, for almost ten years. Together they have been blessed with a three year-old little girl, Dylan, and a son, Luke, who is approaching the age of one.

In his free time, Ben loves being with his family and enjoying the outdoors as much as possible. Hunting, camping, shooting and canoeing are some of his favorite pastimes, as are reading, cooking, and enjoying a great cup of coffee!
