Drug Uses
Levaquin is used for treatment of infections caused by certain bacteria. It can also be used to prevent or slow anthrax after exposure.
How Taken
Use Levaquin as ordered by your doctor. Drinking extra fluids while you are taking Levaquin is advised. Levaquin works best if it is used at the same time each day. To clear up your infection absolutely, take Levaquin for the full course of treatment. Keep using it even if you feel better in several days.
Additional Information
Levaquin can cause dizziness or lightheadedness. These effects may worsen if Levaquin is taken with alcohol or certain other medications. Take Levaquin with caution. Do not drive or perform other possibly unsafe tasks until you know how you respond to this medication. If your symptoms do not improve or if they worsen, consult with your physician. Levaquin should be used only by the patient for whom it has been advised. Do not take less or more or take it more often than recommended by your physician.
