Drug Uses
Atarax is indicated for relief of anxiety and stress caused by psychoneurosis and organic disease states in which anxiety is manifested. It may be used for other conditions as advised by your physician.
How Taken
Atarax comes in tablets to take in by mouth. The regular daily dosage for adults is 50-100 mg. Children over 6 years should take Atarax 50-100mg daily in divided doses. Daily dose for children under 6 years of age is 50mg divided into several dosages.
More Information
Atarax can cause giddiness. These symptoms may worsen if Atarax is taken with alcohol or certain other drugs. Take Atarax with caution. Don't drive or perform other possibly unsafe tasks until you know how you react to this drug. If your symptoms don't improve or if they worsen, call your physician. Atarax should be used only by the patient for whom it has been prescribed. Don't take less or more or take it more often than directed by your physician.
