Drug Uses
Premarin is indicated for handling symptoms of advanced breast cancer in selected men and women, handling or preventing a variety of symptoms due to menopause (hot flashes, vaginal itching, burning, dryness), preventing osteoporosis (brittle bones) after menopause, replacing estrogen after failure of the ovaries, and handling advanced prostate cancer in men. This pill may be used for certain conditions, as advised by your doctor, which can not be listed in the professional package insert. If you have questions about how Premarin is being used, consult with your doctor.
How Taken
Premarin should be taken with a meal. Use it at the same time every day. Notify your physician about the dosage suitable for you and discuss stopping taking Premarin 4 - 6 weeks before surgery.
Additional Information
Premarin can cause dizziness. These effects may be worse if you take it with alcohol or certain medicines. Use Premarin with caution. Do not drive or perform other possibly dangerous tasks until you know how you respond to it. Do not share this drug with others for whom it was not recommended. Do not take this pill for other health situations. If your symptoms don't improve or if they worsen, contact your doctor.
