Drug Uses
Imodium is used for curing and controlling diarrhea, including traveler's diarrhea, and decreasing the volume of discharge from an ileostomy (a surgical opening in the wall of the intestines). It may also be used for other conditions as advised by your physician.
How Taken
Take Imodium as prescribed by your doctor. To avoid stomach upset take Imodium with a meal. It is recommended to drink extra fluids while you are taking Imodium and while you have diarrhea. Don't use for more than [[two|2] days unless directed by a doctor.
More Information
Imodium can cause drowsiness or dizziness. These effects can worsen if Imodium is taken with alcohol or certain other medications. Use Imodium with caution. Don't drive or perform other possibly dangerous tasks until you know how you respond to this drug. If your symptoms do not improve or if they worsen, ask your physician. This pill should be used only by the patient for whom it has been advised. Don't take less or more or take it more often than suggested by your physician.
